Jølster and Fjærland

Sogn og Fjordane in miniature  fjord, mountain and glacier!  We will take you thorugh the beautiful Jølster to Fjærland, the village of glacier and books. You are able to see a wonderful movie about The Jostedal glacier and the national park in the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Along the shoreline you will find the Norwegian Booktown, several small houses are filled with books. On our return we will have a look at  the Bøyabreen glacier.  Out of the tunnel below the fall of the glacier is Kjøsnesfjord, the inner reaches of Jølstravatnet. There are herds of goats grazing on grassy slopes, among thick birch copses. The freshwater fjord runs like a milky glacial green strip in the middle. There are precipitous mountains, worn smooth through the ages by glaciers, and waterfalls thundering down the mountainsides.

Along the Førdefjord to Florø 

The trip along the Førdefjord to Naustdal and Vevring. The air combat museum at Frammarsvika is a museum as well as cafè serving traditional cusines from Sunnfjord, made of local ingredients. You can visit the farm shop with products from the farm and other local delicacies. The trip travels through the hamlet of Vevring and to the primitive rock drawings site at Ausevika. From Eikefjord we take Main Road 5 to Florø. The coastal museum gives an insight into coastal culture. Florø city invite all to have a strall along the street near the harbour, where we can have our lunch at Kakebua, which is a well known cafè & restaurant in the city.
